Lunch Discussion: The New Crowdfunding Frontier
Annenberg Room 207 (Geoffrey Cowan Forum) , 1:15 p.m.-2:15 p.m.

Want to raise capital for your business, or get startup funds from more than friends and family? How do you turn customers into investors -- and evangelists for your brand? And what's the difference between Kickstarter and the new world of securities-based crowdfunding?

Join Annenberg Family Chair in Communication Leadership Geoffrey Cowan in welcoming Brian Goldsmith, president of PubVest, for a discussion of the emerging crowdfunding landscape. The recently passed JOBS Act introduces major changes to the ways entrepreneurs and small businesses can raise money online. So what will this new world of financing mean for the ability of entrepreneurs to launch and grow a business?

PubVest president Brian Goldsmith, former political producer to Katie Couric at the CBS Evening News, will lead a presentation and discussion of the risks and rewards of investment-based crowdfunding, and what this new world of financing means for new businesses’ ability to launch and grow. Lunch will be served.

RSVP recommended. RSVP to sdemetri@usc.edu
