Please join students and faculty for a research seminar by Visiting Lecturer at Northwestern University School of Communication Aymar Jean Christian. The talk is titled: "Off the Line: Independent Television and the Expansion of the Creative Economy"

From Christian: "For over a decade, independent producers have flocked to the web to distribute their own television series. A space of experimentation and autonomy outside Hollywood, the market for independent television reveals how our theories of production, representation and distribution must expand to account for work done outside the "nine-to-five" of creative workers, who are actively reimagining what television can be in the 21st century."
